Bittium nanum from the Azores
There are dozens of Bittium species and some are quite hard to identify. On the Azores there is only 1 species present: Bittium nanum (Mayer, 1864). The pictured specimen comes from the south coast of Sao Miguel and has been found fresh dead in shallow water (size: 7 mm, LDK molluscan collection).
